Amy Carr is an accomplished professional with over 15 years of experience in architecting learning solutions and managing projects for clients in many industries. Amy brings to her engagements key competencies in the areas of instructional design, needs assessment, process design/improvement, and project management.
Experience/Background
Prior to becoming a consultant with St. Charles Consulting Group (StCCG), Amy founded a consulting firm offering high-quality performance and learning solutions to a wide array of clients. Amy managed and designed eLearning courses, workshops and blended solutions on topics from performance management to capital financing. Amy also conducted a skill gap assessment for a manufacturing company and managed the development of knowledge base for an online catalog.
Amy also served as the Director of Strategic Services for NETg. Amy led the Strategic Services consulting practice comprised of specialists in instructional systems design, evaluation and organizational development. Amy’s team partnered with clients to help them improve the effectiveness of their learning programs. Prior to NETg, Amy was a Manager in Sears Roebuck & Co.’s Learning & Organizational Development division. In this role, Amy led the development of Sears’ enterprise-wide e-learning strategy and was a key player in implementing Sears' Learning Management System.
The majority of Amy's career was in the learning organizations at Andersen and Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting). Amy worked as an instructional designer developing classroom-based schools, online orientation programs and performance support tools for tax accountants. Amy later led the training organization for Andersen’s Global Corporate Finance practice, where she partnered with leadership to assess the needs of the practice and provided learning solutions to meet business objectives. Amy co-created Andersen’s methodology for developing web-based training. During Amy’s tenure at Accenture, she developed the first virtual classroom program. She also designed Accenture’s methodology for the development of distance education solutions to facilitate consistency and efficiency.
Education/Professional Achievements
Amy holds a Masters degree in Instructional Systems from The Pennsylvania State University with an emphasis in Learning Technologies. She also has a B.S. in Corporate Communication from Ithaca College. In addition to publications and conference presentations, Amy developed a theory-into-practice knowledge tool that has been leveraged by academic institutions for over a decade.
