Phil Davis is a co-founder of St. Charles Consulting
Group (StCCG). He brings over 30 years of executive
level expertise in human resources, training, and
operations to his clients, most of which are large
companies/firms with global operations.
Since starting the firm in 2002, Phil has worked on a
variety of large scale client assignments. Among other
projects, he led the design and creation of the entire
workforce lifecycle, including all supporting
developmental programs, for the start-up of a 50,000
employee enterprise. During this time, he has also
delivered services to his clients in the areas of
training design and development, integration of people
and processes, team effectiveness, strategic
facilitation and large scale program management.
Additionally, Phil manages the coaching services that
are delivered globally through StCCG’s network of 400+
executive coaches. He has designed the processes and
tools that support the deployment and service delivery
of these coaches throughout the world. He also designed
the customized programs through which these services are
delivered on a consistently high quality basis to each
of our clients.
Within StCCG, Phil fills the role of Managing Partner.
He leads the business development activities and manages
the operations of the firm which has 8 partners and
approximately 35 fulltime employees/contractors. He also
serves as the relationship and quality assurance partner
on many of our significant accounts.
Prior to founding StCCG, Phil served as Partner in
Charge of Global Operations for Andersen’s Learning and
Personal Growth (L&PG), the firm’s worldwide training
organization. He managed the global resources of L&PG,
including approximately 500 learning professionals. L&PG
was responsible for the design, development and delivery
of all training courses and programs for Andersen’s
global organization. The global learning activities for
which he was directly responsible totaled $600+ million
annually.
In 1995 Freeport Indonesia, a subsidiary of Freeport
McMoran, recruited Phil to be their Senior
Vice-President of Human Resources, Training and
Administration. This role required him to relocate to a
very remote island in eastern Indonesia. For six years,
Phil worked for Freeport Indonesia at one of the largest
copper and gold mines in the world.
During the first three years, Phil was responsible for
all human resources, administration and training
activities for Freeport and its 17,000 employees and
contractors. He was also responsible for managing the
company’s entire infrastructure, which included two
company-owned cities with all supporting functions and
services. During these three years, he designed and
implemented a restructuring of the human resources and
training areas.
His success during the first 3 years allowed him to move
into an operations role. For the last three years at
Freeport, Phil was the Executive Vice-President and
Chief Administrative Officer, a role that he held for
three years. During this time, he served on Freeport
Indonesia’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee,
which provided the strategic leadership and management
for Freeport Indonesia. For personal reasons, Phil
resigned from Freeport in March 2001 to repatriate his
family to the United States.
Phil, a non-practicing CPA, spent the first 21 years of
his career working for Arthur Andersen. The first half
of his career there was spent providing auditing and
financial consulting services to his clients. Later, he
moved into a variety of leadership roles within Human
Resources. In these roles, he managed various activities
of recruiting, human resources and training for the firm
in the Southwest US.
