Kathy Dressel is an accomplished, versatile professional with expertise in
organizing and leading highly skilled, technology-oriented teams. From
understanding user needs and identifying requirements to overseeing the
communication and support of end products, she has been hands-on in all aspects
of software development for over 25 years. Noted for her strong problem solving
skills with an emphasis on results she has the ability to integrate diverse
competencies getting the right people doing the right things to achieve the
desired outcome.
Prior to becoming an independent consultant, Kathy was employed at Arthur
Andersen. She spent seven years with their Learning and Personal Growth
organization and eleven with their Tax Technology group. During the course of
those 18 years she focused on product design and development, team leadership,
team coaching, strategic thinking, and process redesign. She has proven her
ability to integrate and lead teams comprised of HR, technology and educational
people. In addition, many of these teams of diverse people were located at
various geographic locations. Some of her key accomplishments during her time at
Andersen include:
- Directing the implementation of learning products such as Docent (LMS)
and Centra (virtual classroom tool) at a global enterprise level.
- Co-leading the initiative to reinvent how training was designed,
developed and delivered within the Arthur Andersen organization and
created various frameworks and platforms for how technology could be
used in classroom learning, knowledge sharing and in distance learning.
- Her leadership in the successful re-engineering of Andersen’s
AplusTax product development process along with the roles and
responsibilities of all involved to create a streamlined development
process resulted in significant dollar savings.
Kathy has a solid understanding of how learning technologies can be used to
enable learning and to create an environment where the integration of people,
processes and technology combine to maximize the learning investment making
learning efficient and relevant.
Since leaving Andersen she has been involved in several projects for clients
including:
- Creation of an Account Development Process internet portal that
provided consultants with access to the details of the process and the
tools associated with each task.
- The selection of an LMS system for a pharmaceutical company. After
selection was made, Kathy created the functional requirements for the
customization of the LMS as well as use cases, custom report
specifications, and test design.
- The design and development of an NPO Financial template using in
conjunction with CaseWare Working Papers, an assurance and reporting
tool.
