Russ Gates is a senior business executive with 26 years of varied experience
working with senior and board level executives across a variety of industries.
Russ possesses extensive experience in business development, governance,
enterprise risk management, new product/service launch strategies,
organizational design and alignment, program definition and integration, team
building, and performance management and development. He has a solid background
in eBusiness and various aspects of information technology including overall
alignment with business needs, program and project management, security and
infrastructure management.
In addition to actively participating in the St. Charles Consulting Group team,
Russ is the principal of his own firm, the DuPage Consulting LLC.
Russ was with Arthur Andersen for 24 years, most recently, as the Global
Managing Partner of Andersen’s Risk Consulting business – a $650 million global
business with a 20-30% annual growth. In this position, he was responsible for
overall business strategy, customer segmentation and focus, major account sales
and support, product management and alignment, technology solutions,
methodology, knowledge management, and quality/risk management. In addition,
Russ had overall responsibility for establishing and managing third-party
alliance relationships designed to generate new business opportunities and
relationships.
From 1996 through 2001, Russ had global responsibility for the Technology Risk
Consulting and eBusiness Risk Consulting businesses at Andersen. His
responsibilities in this role included, overall management for business
strategy, customer segmentation and focus, product definition and management,
marketing, methodology, training and knowledge management. Russ had direct
responsibility for development of business alliances with information and
network security, infrastructure management and electronic payment software
solution providers.
From 1993 through 1999, Russ had direct operating (profit and loss)
responsibility for a Chicago office operating division that included various
combinations of Andersen’s Technology Risk, Business Systems Consulting and
Legal Information systems consulting groups over this period of time. During
this period, Russ also led numerous client engagements in various aspects of
business, technology and risk management at Global 500 organizations.
Russ is one of the co-authors of “The Clickable Corporation” published in 1999
by The Free Press that examined the value propositions that can be successful
for capturing business advantages on the Internet. He co-authored of Andersen’s
Enterprise Security Framework and had content responsibility for Andersen’s
involvement with the Economist Intelligence Unit’s 1998 study on “Managing
Business Risks in the Information Age.”
Russ graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science
degree in accounting.
