Rod Mebane, a Partner with St. Charles Consulting Group (StCCG), is a seasoned professional who specializes in corporate learning strategy with an emphasis on executive and leadership development. Rod’s expertise has both depth and breadth across learning which gives him an ability to integrate strategic business objectives into all areas of employee development. Rod’s capabilities in the areas of organizational communication, strategic facilitation, and change planning and implementation have led to his success in driving results for his clients.
Experience/Background
Prior to joining StCCG, Rod was the Chief Learning Officer (CLO) at BDO Seidman, LLP – the nation’s sixth largest accounting firm. While there, Rod designed and implemented a comprehensive learning framework, implemented competency-based performance systems and infused professional development throughout the learning curriculum. Rod also created the BDO Leadership Institute, a “best-in-class” program within the industry which develops high-performers into exceptional leaders.
Prior to BDO, Rod served as Senior Performance Consultant and Director at Arthur Andersen where he provided knowledge management support to executive leadership on global strategy and performance management initiatives. He was also instrumental in forming the first unit within Andersen’s learning community to focus on organizational development (OD) strategies. Rod pioneered an encompassing Learning Assessment Model to “dashboard” key learning facets and functions.
Rod has also worked as an independent management consultant, serving such clients as First Chicago Bank, A.T. Kearney, Motorola, and Loyola University. Prior to that, Rod worked on financial and investment matters in the nonprofit sector, serving as Treasurer for Southern Methodist University and Director of Investment Research for the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.
Education/Professional Achievements
Rod holds a Bachelor’s degree from Swarthmore College and Master’s degree from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania. Rod is broadly published on a variety of learning and general business topics.
