Russ is focused on helping organizations develop and sustain their long-term success by aligning their operating activities with their business strategies, developing individual, team and leadership capabilities and managing business risks. His experience working with global organizations include various aspects of enterprise and IT risk management and governance and compliance. He leverages his background in organizational design, program definition and integration, along with strategic and performance management programs.

Experience/Background
In recent years, Russ has worked with clients consulting on an array of business issues. He has helped partners and senior managers in consulting and accounting firms to develop effective interpersonal, leadership and business management knowledge and skills. In this role, Russ has focused on helping professionals fill the gap between modern day leadership and the reality of working in a client-focused professional service organization. He has also been working with organizations, both public and private, to help them develop sustainable, cost effective approaches to addressing internal control and compliance requirements and integrating those requirements with those driven from other governance, regulatory or risk management drivers. While the specifics of these engagements differ significantly, the common benefit of this work to the client has been the evolution of a more “risk-based” approach to determining what is really important so that efforts, and costs, are focused on “things that matter” to the clients ability to achieve its business objectives.

Russ was with Arthur Andersen for 24 years, serving in both client service and business management roles. He was the Global Managing Partner of the Risk Consulting practice with over 5,000 people with responsibility for overall business strategy, thought leadership, customer segmentation, and major account relationship management. Prior to this role, Russ had global management responsibility for the Technology Risk Consulting and eBusiness Risk Consulting businesses at Andersen and also led numerous client engagements in various aspects of business, technology and risk management at Global 500 organizations.

Education/Professional Achievements
Russ is a co-author of several publications, including COSO’s recently released “Guidance on Monitoring Internal Control Systems” which is aimed at helping organizations make monitoring of controls an integrated component of their system of internal controls. Russ graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.
