Ross Stern is an experienced professional with over two
decades of experience in working with senior level
executives to influence change through design,
development and management of creative and innovative
training and human capital programs in the professional
services arena. He has broad experience in applying
creative problem solving skills in an ambiguous,
changing environment and for a wide variety of clients.
Ross joined the St. Charles Consulting Group following
five years as the Director of Training for Parson
Consulting, a global consulting firm serving the unique
needs of Chief Financial Officer’s in mid-size to large
publicly traded companies. In this capacity, Ross was
responsible for developing the firm’s training strategy
and curriculum, including sales training, on-boarding,
and core consulting and technical skills.
Prior to Parson Consulting, Ross was a Principal with
Arthur Andersen where his responsibilities included
serving as the Director of Human Resources for the
training function and as Director of various training
development groups within Arthur Andersen including Tax,
Business Consulting, Emerging and Owner-Managed
Business, Audit, and Specialty Consulting Education.
In his role as Director of Human Resources for the
Learning and Personal Growth office within Arthur
Andersen, Ross built the Human Resources function to
meet the unique needs of over 400 training
professionals. He designed and implemented a
comprehensive, integrated job description and
performance review system, managed the professional
development program, and counseled, coached and advised
managers and associates on confidential, difficult and
highly sensitive performance and personnel issues. Ross
successfully managed significant change during periods
of dramatic growth within the training function as well
as the eventual termination of operations. Ross also
served on the Andersen Human Capital Executive Council,
providing strategic direction on global human resource
initiatives.
As Director of Training for multiple service lines
within Arthur Andersen, Ross led the training
development groups responsible for aligning the business
and education strategies for the tax, audit and
specialty consulting practices. In addition to building
the core training curriculum, he was responsible for
liaising with senior firm leadership and managing key
sponsor relationships. He also worked on global firm
initiatives designed to enhance Andersen’s reputation
for client satisfaction. Ross spent a year in the firm’s
London office, gaining valuable international experience
while developing the UK Tax Curriculum plan and
introducing the Andersen training methodology to their
education professionals and staff.
Ross holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Alfred
University and a Master’s degree from Ithaca College in
Organizational Communication, Learning and Design.
