Steve brings 20 years of experience in corporate finance, accounting and process design to St. Charles Consulting Group (StCCG). Blending technology with experience, Steve has led diverse teams within the utility, ecommerce and accounting industries. Steve’s primary areas of expertise include streamlining processes, maximizing productivity, developing new revenue streams and cost reduction initiatives.
Experience/Background
Prior to joining StCCG, Steve managed various teams focused on process improvements, utilization and cost reduction at NICOR, Inc. Steve created Nicor’s Contractor Management Group which was successful in reducing overall contractor costs by 4% in the first year. Steve developed forecast models that allowed for more efficient scheduling of work and utilization of man-hours which successfully decreased overall payroll cost. Further, Steve implemented the company’s first routing management software that systematically created more efficient walking routes, thus reducing man-hour requirements. Steve also developed a policy, and received governmental approval, allowing the company to recapture costs that fall out of the installation agreements with developers.
Prior to joining NICOR, Steve founded and managed the first non-subscription agricultural website, FarmPage.com. The site was recognized as one of the top five agricultural websites in the U.S. by the advertising firm, Bader Rutter, in 2000. Steve designed and implemented the first database for farm producers to research products online, and purchase discounted soybean and corn seed from many participating companies. Steve also served as controller for Arthur Andersen’s Center for Professional Education.
Education/Professional Achievements
Prior to joining StCCG Steve received both his Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business degree in Accountancy from Aurora University. Additionally, he earned a Bachelor of Business degree in Finance from Western Illinois University.
